Tunnels

I've bought and read 'Tunnels' by Gordon and Williams. I gotta say, after all the hoopla and rave reviews about it having 'Potteresque momentum' and being the next 'Harry Potter', I have to admit it was a bit disappointing! To be honest, I only read it because it was alleged to be an international bestseller, but it was nothing of the sort, IMO.

It was very slow-paced and not much happens after 472 pages. I actually predicted two things accurately and therefore was not surprised at all when it was disclosed. And you know what the worst part is? Much like the first book of 'His Dark Materials' by Phillip Pullman, it ended with a cliffhanger! I didn't much care for the first book, I'm definitely not going to get the second book! LOL...
